wish i was there...

Photobucket
DJ Mehdi and SoMe DJing at PS 14 last year @ 8:00am... good times...

there's no place i'd rather be then at the South Seas Hotel in South Beach tonight, to see andrew and tommy open up for justice and mehdi. but i'm going to skip seeing Adam Freeland at Le Royale and go to a house party next door. but, being surrounded by 200 people from miami spilling drinks on me and burning me with cigarettes is almost as good. oh, except not at all.

so, here's some "miami". i love this surkin song. i saw him with Para One and BobMo last night and they were very cool. but, i was the only person besides my room mate and some interviewers from SubDrive. i'll have to post the video interviews when they get posted. because i'm in one talking shit.

Grafton Primary: I Can Cook (Miami Horror Remix)
Hot Pink Delorean: Miami Snatch

À La Mode.

Photobucket
art by: me.

La Mode are certainly in fashion, with original songs, some great remixes (check out the digitalism & bloc party mixes on their myspace), an NLLR mixtape, and, a french name. They're from Melbourne, Australia, like some of your other favorites (hello Midnight Juggernauts). Perhaps they'll be the next addition to Modular Records. Enjoy.

embrace the cheese.

so, i've been watching a degrassi marathon on "The N", and between commercials i caught this new Ashlee Simpson video. for some reason i can't help but love it. then when i was googling it i realized that it's produced by timbaland. and i immediately felt better about being so drawn to it.

walk it out? walk it out.

coco just showed me this video and it has changed my life. i don't know if this has gotten a lot of circulation on the youtube circuit. mostly because i never know whats popular.

instant pancake mix and an entire macbook battery later...

for all you touring DJs, for a couple free meals and a pack of camels, you can crash at my house and i'll navigate you around soho.
fluo kids + nike ID store = kids on christmas morning. "with swagger".

french DJs love hip hop. below are some sexual eruption remixes you may have seen posted around, and a very old datA remix that was one of his first. thank god it wasn't his last.

snoop dogg: sexual eruption (boys noize remix)

snoop dogg: sexual eruption (dirty south remix)

snoop dogg: drop it like it's hot (datA remix)

on a less music related subject: one of my favorite artists, takashi murakami is coming to the brooklyn museum three days after my birthday.

on a more music related subject: you may have seen his work on the cover of kanye west's most recent album.

felix cartal is faux-french. he prefers american pop?

britney spears: outrageous (felix cartal remix)"

i stole this next track from synthetic rocks:
fergie vs felix cartal: london bridge (zhiguli edit)

i'm not terribly familiar with delete, or familiar at all really, but as my itunes was playing through the tons of miscellaneous music i download and sort through later, i fell in love with this mixtape, and i think you will too. awwwwww.

delete live @ cargo de nuit

what the fuck is DVNO? "four capital letters."
word on the street is that there was a clip filmed in the parisian metro for this video that the city of paris isn't letting them use. if you live in NYC you've probably seen the 569563498526 justice posters around town for their march 11 show at madison square garden. i mean, in the wamu theatre in the back of madison square garden. maybe they'll pull an axl rose and freak the fuck out and refuse to go onstage because they didn't get the cubed ham they asked for in their roster (true story).

this is the gang sign for baille-funk.

i keep hearing that santogold is the next m.i.a.. i wasn't expecting to find them together on google image search though. apparantly the girl lives in my neighborhood. the lovely and talented andrew spear is leasing her guitar player's apartment this summer upstairs from savalas. he's the one who originally made the comparison between these two ladies (to me), and afterwards i got on google blog search. every posted song/ remix has been removed, so good luck finding them for free. however, there has been a minimix posted around:

santogold 5 minute minimix

also, a remix by xxxchange, who plays hiro ballroom... every other week.

santogold: les artistes (xxxchange remix)

if you havent seen the video for count & sinden featuring kid sister "beeper", here's your busted nut:

"Beeper" - The Count & Sinden ft Kid Sister from joseph monish on Vimeo.

i saw kap10kurt recently, and hes as good looking as he is in this animated video. apparantly in a futuristic world where music is outlawed, he's going to piss on things.

mange ma viande, gangster!

i haven't been keeping up lately. i saw yelle and TEPR with grand marnier february 21. yelle was super sweet, TEPR was dope even though my room mate grabbed his dick, and grand marnier loved her for doing so.

my boys bloody beetroots are playing at studio b this friday with... well, you know.

also playing friday night are my current house guests, fluokids. to hear about what we've been doing in nyc, check pharrell and guillaume's (aka redhotcar) mysapce blog. there's lesbians and sneakers and a lot of sitting around my apartment.

no music in this post, sorry! there's too much blogging in my living room tonight.
